2018 Pan Am Championships – Details



The 218 Pan Am Championships for Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics start tomorrow and run through Sept. 16 in Lima, Peru.

This competition is the qualifier for the 2019 Pan American Games.  The top 8 Men’s and Women’s teams, 2 gymnasts from teams placing in 9th – 13th, and 7 gymnasts, max. one per country, with the highest AA results from countries who have not already qualified will advance to the 2019 Pan Am Games.

The competition format for the Pan Am Championships is as follows;

  • Team Qualification –  4 athletes compete on each event and the 3 best scores count
  • Team Finals – 3 athletes compete on each event and all 3 scores count

Competition Schedule:

Sept. 14

Men’s Qualification for team, all-around and event finals –

  • 9:40 a.m. – Subdivision 1: Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Uruguay; Mixed Group 1
  • 2 p.m. – Subdivision 2: Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Jamaica, Peru, Venezuela
  • 6:30 p.m. – Subdivision 3: Canada, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, USA

Sept. 15

Women’s qualification for team, all-around and event finals –

  • 10:10 a.m. – Subdivision 1: Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Panama, Venezuela
  • 12:30 p.m. – Subdivision 2: Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay
  • 2:30 p.m. – Subdivision 3: Aruba, Brazil, Canada, Cayman Island, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, USA

Sept. 16

Team finals –

  • 10:50 a.m. – Men
  • 4 p.m. – Women

USA Gymnastics has not announced if any portion of this competition will be available to watch LIVE.
