Oklahoma went into team finals in first place with a 430.600.  They lead the pack by 9.3 points with Illinois following in second with a 421.300 and Stanford coming in third with a 420.450.

By the end of the night, the Sooners captured their 3rd straight National title with a team score of 431.950.

This title is the 11th for the Sooners which is just second behind Penn State who has won it 12 times.

For Mark Williams, the Sooners head coach, this marks his 8th title in his 18 years leading the team.  Coincidentally, this ties him with his former coach, Francis Allen of Nebraska, for the second most winning coaches behind Gene Wettstone of PSU who has 9 wins.

Amazingly, the Sooners have won every meet they have entered since 2014.  During this time they have won 76 straight meets which includes three national titles, three conference titles, and nine individual national titles.

The Sooners’ Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics Teams have won national titles for the past 3 years together.  This marks an incredible achievement for their program.
